This includes 400 Hz frequency converters both solid state and rotary, 400 Hz distribution panels and line drop compensators as well as 400 Hz cables and assemblies.

Aircraft Service Pit 400 Hz Power + Utilities

Providing “turnkey” ground power systems to support military hangars, Avicorp engineers design the entire system, including 400 Hz power generation. Shop drawings, supply, installation and commissioning of the network assures sole source responsibility. Note the 90 KVA 400 Hz. Connectors along with multiple 50 hz. Explosion proof receptacle. Provision for shop water and air is also provided.

Rotary 400 Hz Conversion A Stable Solution

With the advent of reliable solid-state frequency conversion, the older rotary designs found reliable replacements. Certain avionics functions, particularly in military hangars and service centers, benefit from the robust characteristics found in a rotary approach. Avicorp offers the best options. Design a singular or parallel arrangement, allows for diverse and reliable support of your sensitive ground power needs.

400 Hz Central Distribution System

Multiple centralized 400 Hz units, rated 200-312 KVA, offer an opportunity for a robust centralized. Each service position features automatic voltage regulation (LVR). The full load demands are met by engaging the required converters, precisely meeting the load. Avicorp has installed the world’s largest central system serving some 28 positions from three utility plants.

Solid State 90 KVA Units

Ever more popular is the use of individual  90 KVA modular GPU’s. They are generally installed associated with a single 90 KVA connector. Avicorp offers an array of designs from major manufacturers, allowing for a perfect match to the application. Designed for indoor or outdoor mounting, ambient ratings to 56°C can be achieved.

Cable & Assemblies

Avicorp provides power cable assemblies and Mil Spec. connectors for aircraft and air defense systems. We offer sourcing and fabrication of all types of aircraft connectors and assemblies for on-board applications such as engine & nav-aid connections. Also specialized on-ground cable assemblies for applications such as air defense radar power and control cables. Maintenance of cables and connectors allows for addressing any connection or reliability issue immediately.

Service Cabinets, Power Distribution Units

Avicorp manufacturers service cabinets and PDU’s for aircraft and air defense requirements. Optional features available include: auto-switching and paralleling, load sharing, current and voltage sensing, feedback interlocks, system control & monitoring, and voltage drop compensation. As part of the supply effort, full maintenance, service and support is offered.

400 Hz Modular Service Pits

Avicorp’s In Ground Systems (IGS) are unique, modular, factory assembled and tested, aircraft service pits. Eliminating the need for cast in place concrete structures, major benefits are enjoyed.   Pit drainage and sump pumps are built-in. Components are all populated, in the factory, and shipped complete to the site. Rust free enclosures offer a lifetime of trouble-free service.

The counterbalanced lids meet all load requirements. The hatch design allows for minimal alignment demands. In the case of damage from ground equipment, gates can be returned to immediate service, whereas the Pop-Up design can cause major operational interruptions.

Modular Pit Installation

Facilitation of installation and minimization of resources is an outstand benefit of the IGS design. Units are factory populated with all components in the factory, delivered to site, and easily installed. Leveling and direct backfilling completes the job. The contractor’s obligations and costs are minimized, while the client’s benefits are maximized.

Bridge Mounted Cable Retrievers

Providing a convenient access to the 400 Hz cable connection, cable reels are an easy choice. Mounted at the cab end of the Passenger Loading Bridge (PBB), the units allow for an array of 400 hz supply systems. Bridge mounted 400 hz units are popular, but other options include units mounted in the NODE building or supplied from a central source.

The cable is stored safely, clearing the ramp for PBB movement, and other operations. UP and DOWN access is afforded by a control at the bogie. Once in reach of the operator, controls found in the 400 hz head allow the operator to extend or retract the cable.
